A Legacy Built on
Every Crust
Pequod's Pizza was born in 1971 from a simple but powerful idea: that deep dish pizza could be something truly extraordinary. Our founder believed that the crust — that often-overlooked foundation — was the key to something magical. By allowing the cheese to caramelize around the edges of a seasoned pan, he created a signature crunch that nobody had tasted before.
Decades later, that same hand-crafted method is still at the heart of every pizza we make. We source the freshest local ingredients, knead our dough daily from scratch, and layer each pie with care, passion, and an obsessive attention to quality that hasn't changed in over 50 years.
Today, Pequod's is proud to serve Morton Grove and the greater Illinois area as one of the most beloved deep dish institutions in the country — featured in national food guides, celebrated by chefs, and cherished by loyal guests who've been with us for generations.
Our Mission &
Core Commitments
Every pie we craft reflects the promises we've kept since day one — to our guests, our community, and our craft.
Crafted With Passion
Every pizza starts with our chefs' genuine love for the craft. We believe that passion is an ingredient you can actually taste — in every caramelized crust, every hand-layered topping.
Fresh, Local Ingredients
We source from trusted local farms and suppliers to ensure that every bite is as fresh as possible. No shortcuts, no frozen corners — just real, wholesome ingredients.
Community First
Pequod's exists because of our community. We give back through local events, partnerships with schools, and programs that support families and neighbors across Morton Grove.
